LOVE on the Shoreline - a wedding gift

Project type

Glass Fusion, multi-layered, multi-fuse process

Date

April 2026

Size:

5" circle

This custom fused glass art piece was created as a deeply meaningful wedding gift for a beach ceremony in Punta Cana. The project translates emotional real-life moments, family memories, and personal passions into a permanent, light-catching glass heirloom.

From Reference to Glass: The Symbolism
The Cowboy Boots: The bride’s mother carried her late father’s cowboy boots—adorned with flowers and a memorial charm—down the beach aisle. In the glass piece, these boots rest permanently on the shoreline, ensuring his presence is forever anchored in their marriage.
The Heart in the Sky: A subtle pink heart is fused into the sunset clouds, serving as a gentle visual tribute to her father watching over the couple.
The Illuminated "LOVE" Sign: The white lettering along the shoreline replicates the large, glowing "LOVE" marquee sign featured at the couple's evening beach reception.
The Ocean Life: Two fish swim together through the deep blue glass waves, representing the bride and groom's shared love for beach days and deep-sea fishing.

Artistic Process & Craftsmanship
Design Evolution: Developed directly from real-life wedding photographs to capture precise, sentimental details.
Material Techniques: Uses layered hand-cut sheet glass, fine glass frit for cloud texture, and precision glass beadwork to recreate the shoreline details.
Interactive Light: Designed explicitly as a window showpiece, allowing shifting daylight to illuminate the warm sunset horizon and deep coastal blues.
